extracting mp3s from youtube's videos

install the unplug plugin for firefox

install mencoder
$sudo apt-get install mencoder

download the video with unplug (right click and choose the unplug from menu)
in my case i have this video
extract the mp3 from the flv (audio is MP3-encoded in the movie file)
ffmpeg -i doors_when_the_music_is_over.flv -vn -acodec copy doors_when_the_music_is_over.mp3


The audio codec "copy" tells ffmpeg to use the same codec for encoding as was
used for decoding. Also, since we're not overriding any of the other audio
parameters such as sample rate or bit rate, we should be retrieving the sound
track exactly as it was multiplexed into the movie file.

our server was thunder struck

The Parsippany, NJ Facility (OCT) is no longer running on generator power. Full Utility service has been restored. We are conducting a full investigation as to the exact nature of the power problems with the generator that resulted from the lighting strike earlier last night.

"From what we can tell at this point the storm caused a lightning strike to a power pole which knocked out utility power to the area. 
 
 OCT was initially running on battery power from the UPS systems. The generator in OCT failed to auto-start. This appears to have been due to a problem with the batteries in the generator (this is still under investigation). Once the UPS batteries ran out of power the entire site experienced a power loss. Engineering and Facility staff were able to replace the batteries in the generator and perform a manual start. Once the generator was online, power was restored to the facility. We have been running on generator for approximately the last 2 hours. The power company is currently repairing the damaged equipment and expects to have power restored shortly."

One day i installed the redhat 6.0 on my workstation and started to learn Perl , After a while i went to Netsoft.ro where i worked with :firebird,perl,delphi,mysql . I wanted this
way to escape the Windows only world and to learn more about linux ,php and perl.
I had an short period and worked for an Microsoft's partner (infopulse.ro) where i learned
this cool language named C# and did some delphi , c++ programming (dcom,com+) and
javascript . On my second partition i had redhat installed and next to me was an solaris machine. Cygwin was an too helped me in that period.
From Jan 2004 until now , i'm working at reea.net located in Tirgu-Mures

One thing I believe to be true (in turns of How AMD can be fixed?). Building Digital Rights Management (DRM) into its chips (see Adrian Kingsley-Hughes' How AMD hopes to turn things around) probably isn't the answer.
[My next computers will be AMD, and Microsoft free , DRM free too, you know that on your own servers they can control the daemons you run, and doesn't work by the way ]

We have identified that messages from your IP (127.0.0.1) are being filtered based on the recommendations of the SmartScreen filter.  SmartScreen is the spam filtering technology developed and operated by Microsoft.  SmartScreen is built around the technology of machine learning.  SmartScreen’s filters are trained to recognize what is spam and what isn’t spam.  In short, we filter incoming emails that look like spam.  I am not able to go into any specific details about what these filters specifically entail, as this would render them useless.

failed to open DRM: Operation not permitted (on fglrx and ubuntu feisty)

[After installing fglrx with apt-get install apt-get install xorg-driver-fglrx and replacing nvidia with fglrx in driver section i still had no 3d enabled and my user wasn't allowed to access /dev/dri . So i did an little search on google and got this ]
Then you are trying to run as a user that doesn't have permission to use the DRI (root is the default allowed user). To let all users access the DRI, add the following section to your xorg.conf:

If you read the changelog you will see that mp3lib audio codec is now enabled
Add --enable-mp3lib to CONFIGURE_AUDIO_CODECS (LP: #83580). - Remove --disable-mp3lib. This one took some time to find.
